The Shining Path is a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist guerrilero group that was formed in Perú in the 1980s in order to overthrow the government and establish a communist government led by the Peruvian agrarian class.
They were most active in the 80s and 90s and are famed for their violent tactics against peasants, union leaders, elected officials and infrastructure.
