The Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QDS) or more colloquially, the Quad, is a strategic security alliance initiated in 2007 by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The dialogue is maintained by member states Australia, Japan, India, and the United States and is widely viewed as a response to increased Chinese economic and military power.
