A project initiated by the USA, the Japanese Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to oversee infrastructure and make sure that the infrastructure is sustainable. The project will increase the cooperation of governments, the private sector and other organisations to develop this infrastructure. Theoretically, any country can join this network if it wishes to meet global standards with regards to infrastructure. The focus would be on private-sector led investments to promote transparency and reduce corruption. Infrastructure certified by the Blue Dot Network will be recognised globally as they meet the global infrastructure standards set by the Network.
