Washington Consensus

A set of ten economic policy recommendations by Washington D.C. based institutions such as the International Monetary Fund, World Bank and United States Department of the Treasury. They are considered as the standard to follow whenever there is a loan or aid package to developing countries. They mostly involve free market economic ideas that nations must adhere to in other to receive economic aid packages; typically in crisis situations.
