Why is he in the news? Due to Bernie Sanders’ decision to drop out of the U.S. presidential race, Biden is most likely to be the Democratic nominee.
Why do we care? We care about whether or not Trump is reelected and a lot of that depends on who he is up against.
Why should you care? We’re willing to bet you also care about whether or not Trump gets reelected.
Who else cares? Presumably, both major parties in the U.S, Bernie’s fans, and those Americans still stuck outside the U.S….but also, world leaders as the U.S. presidential election in November impacts them far more than they’d like to admit. As strongly as they may wish for Trump to go away, it’s more likely than not that he’ll stay (thanks a lot incumbent advantage..).
Any further comments? With Biden as the likely Democratic nominee, we are unfortunately seeing yet another presidential race between two old white men. While they do differ in their ideologies, many other attributes that influence their decision making are not so different. Don’t get us wrong, we are hopeful that Biden will beat Trump in November! But we’re also realistic in recognizing that if Hillary Clinton couldn’t (a woman with far more differences to Trump as well as strong public speaking skills), there’s no guarantee Biden can. He doesn’t offer anything new or fresh necessarily, simply a Democratic presidency (and hopefully a female VP but again, we don’t want to get our hopes up…).
